In our next Employee Spotlight, we're introducing you to Melissa Meade.
MEET MELISSA
Melissa Meade joined Heartland Reps back in 2017 and is our Inside Sales Manager. Melissa worked for Maverick Healthcare, Boelter Company, US Foods, and R.R. Jones over the past twenty years.
We chatted with Melissa to learn more about her role at Heartland and what she loves to do in Missouri.
How long have you been working with Heartland Reps? I have been with Heartland for five years. I currently reside in Missouri.
What are your job roles or responsibilities with Heartland Reps? I am an Inside Sales Manager. My responsibilities include quoting and customer service for our entire territory.
Do you have a favorite part about that role? My favorite part of my role is interacting with dealers on a daily basis.
What do you like the most about where you live? The attractions that we have available to us are second-to-none: the Zoo, the Muny, the Arch, Union Station, Sporting games, baseball and hockey, music venues, wineries, local breweries, and the restaurants. Just to name a few!
Why the foodservice industry? I was lucky enough to gain a position in this industry and I've loved it ever since. The learning never stops with foodservice.
There's a lot of famous BBQ in Heartland's territory. Do you have a favorite?
What's your go-to order? I actually don't have a favorite BBQ restaurant!
Slaw or beans? Slaw.
Sweet tea or pop? Pop.
Chocolate or vanilla? Neither!
Do you cook at home? What's your favorite home kitchen tool or device? I do cook at home quite a bit. I love my BBQ pit and my Air Fryer is essential.
Anything else we should know about you? I am a proud mom of two amazing kids.
