At Heartland Reps, our team is the heart of what we do. In this Employee Spotlight, we’re thrilled to introduce Andre Brazil, a Territory Manager who plays a pivotal role in supporting our dealers and end users.
Working with dealers and end users in Kansas and southwest Missouri, Andre works hard at building strong relationships, ensuring our partners have the support and resources they need to succeed. We sat down with him to get a little more background and a few fun facts about his life.
My journey into the foodservice industry began during my college years when I worked as a bartender. I loved the opportunity to make patrons happy through the services I provided, and that sense of fulfillment stayed with me.
Today, I get to experience that same satisfaction, though in a different way, by being a trusted resource for dealers and end users. Knowing I can help others achieve success in their operations is incredibly rewarding.
When it comes to dining out, my favorite spot is Shucks Fish House & Oyster Bar in Omaha. I make it a point to stop there whenever I’m in town. My go-to order starts with a half-dozen oysters on the half-shell, carefully selected depending on their origin. For the main course, I can’t resist the “Angry Crab Linguini,” a flavorful dish featuring deep-sea red crab, scallions, garlic, jalapeño, roasted red pepper, and a tomato cream sauce over linguini. It’s a meal that never disappoints!
If I had the chance, I’d ask Chef David to make me a classic Beef Wellington. It’s a dish that perfectly blends sophistication and comfort, and I’d love to see his take on it.
Without a doubt, the coldest place I’ve experienced is Fargo, ND, where I went to school. The temperatures there were unlike anything I had ever encountered. It was a true test of endurance during the harsh winter months!
Yes, I enjoy cooking at home, especially when I get to fire up the grill. My favorite kitchen tool is my pair of trusty stainless steel grill tongs. And, of course, no grilling session is complete without a couple of test clicks to ensure (the tongs are) working smoothly. It’s all part of the ritual!
One of my long-standing hobbies is keeping saltwater aquariums, a passion I’ve nurtured for over 25 years. I’ve collected vibrant corals from all around the world, creating miniature underwater ecosystems. It’s a hobby that requires patience and attention to detail, but it’s incredibly rewarding to watch these living works of art thrive.
